'I'm not paid the big bucks' - Aston Villa fans react to crucial Dean Smith decision for Arsenal clash

Aston Villa news: Fans have had their say as the head coach names his side for tonight's crucial match against Mikel Arteta's Gunners with Man City hammering Watford

Aston Villa fans have been reacting to tonight's team named by Dean Smith for the match against Arsenal.

A win would lift Villa level on 34 points with Watford, a place above them in 17th and thus outside of the relegation zone providing things stay as they are at Vicarage Road.

The Hornets are losing 2-0 to Manchester City with Raheem Sterling at the double for Pep Guardiola's side.

Villa know that a win would do them the world of good tonight with Watford to play Arsenal at the weekend but Mikel Arteta's side have shown real signs of improvement in the past couple of performances.

And Smith has gone unchanged from the side that almost won at Everton last time out but-for a last-gasp equaliser from Theo Walcott.

"Another Trezeguet masterclass incoming I'm hearing?" one fan said upon hearing the news.

"Don't mind sticking with the same 11, but if Mbwana Samatta is struggling again then Keinan Davis needs to be on at half time," said another.

A third said: "To everyone asking why not Davis? His style will suit brilliantly as the Arsenal defence start to tire out!"

"Happy with that," said another. "Davis will make much more of an impact when he comes on than Samatta. Come on lads!"

"No Davis is surprising," added a fifth fan. "I'm not paid the big bucks though, let's do this."
