Nokia and Flipkart set to launch an Android TV Box

by · Nokiamob

After their successful partnership with Nokia Smart TV, sources say that Nokia and Flipkart are set to launch their first-ever Android TV Box around August this year. There is no official statement regarding this news, but the source is apparently coming from deep within. Nokia Smart TV is offering pretty much the same as TV Box will, but this will spread the logo to those who can’t afford a new TV and would like to make their old one a bit smarter.

The upcoming media streaming device will run on Android 9.0 Pie OS and will be offering up to 1080p Full HD resolution output. It is also expected to support voice control via Google Assistant, which is becoming a more common feature with any Android TV Boxes in the market today. Furthermore, sources say the device will also support Chromecast and will allow users to cast their smartphones directly onto their TV.

India currently has one of the most active markets for Android TV Boxes today. It will be exciting to see how Nokia and Flipkart will be able to pull this off. Especially with competitors in the market such as Xiaomi and Amazon offering Android TV Boxes with features like 4K HDR 10 support at exceptionally low prices.
