Gael García Bernal Joins the Cast of M. Night Shyamalan’s Next Thriller

Universal Pictures announced last September that two new “original thrillers” from M. Night Shyamalan are on the way, and the first of which has been casting during the pandemic.

Deadline reports today that Gael García Bernal has just joined a growing cast that also includes the previously announced Alex Wolff, Eliza Scanlen, Thomasin McKenzie, Aaron Pierre, Abbey Lee, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Ken Leung and Vicky Krieps.

Filming will begin on the untitled movie, which Shyamalan has described as being “weird and dark,” whenever it’s safe for productions here in the States to resume.

For now, no plot details are available.

The film’s current theatrical date is July 23, 2021.
