First trailer for Borat 2 is a whirlwind of crotch masks, Mike Pence, and incest jokes

Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat sequel hits Amazon Oct. 23

Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat character returns to induce cringeworthy terror upon unsuspecting interview subjects in a sequel to 2006’s Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan later this month.

The first trailer for the direct-to-digital sequel — Amazon secured the film rights for Prime Video — shows faux Kazakh journalist Borat quarantining in rural America during the coronavirus pandemic, searching for the right match for his “daughter,” and apparently confronting U.S. Vice President Mike Pence.

The sequel, known as Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (an apparent change from Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice Premiere Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan, as was previously reported), reveals that Borat has become too famous after the success of his first film, and must don disguises to properly immerse himself in American culture — and embarrass his co-stars. One of those costumes includes an elaborate Donald Trump disguise, as Borat infiltrates the American Conservative Union’s Conservative Political Action Conference, where Pence is speaking.

Amazon Prime subscribers will be able to watch and wince through the new Borat mockumentary on Oct. 23, just in time for the upcoming U.S. election.
