Body found in Derwent is believed to be young man missing for months

Police searching for a missing Derby man have found a body in the River Derwent.

Hayden Marshall went missing from the city centre on December 17 last year.

CCTV footage released by Derbyshire police appeared to show the 28-year-old falling into the river.

Now officers have found a body they believe is his further downstream in Alvaston.

A formal identification has not taken place yet, but police believe it is Hayden.

Hayden was wearing a checked blue and white shirt, blue jeans and a black leather jacket when he went missing at around 1.15am.

A Derbyshire police spokesperson said: "His family has been informed and we are preparing a file for the coroner.

"We would like to thank everyone who supported the many appeals we shared as part of the investigation to find Hayden."
