LEGENDARY designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh has been given the most expensive face mask in the country.

A giant mural of Mackintosh outside Glasgow’s Clutha Bar has been fitted with the £250 covering.

The white vinyl includes the Clutha Trust logo and is also weather resistant.

It was the brainchild of pub boss Alan Crossan, 67, who said: “It’s really to encourage people to wear their masks and is a reflection of the times we are currently living in.

“I think it also shows the Clutha will continue to always have the community at heart. It wasn’t cheap but I was happy to personally pay to get the message across.

“It must be the biggest face mask in the country.

He added: “Don’t be a mask moron and undo all the hard work of lockdown”.

The mural was created in 2018 to mark the 150th anniversary of Mackintosh’s birth.

The artwork sits just yards from where ten died when a police chopper crashed into the Glasgow boozer’s roof in 2013.

The Clutha Trust was set up to provide music education and events for young people and people with disabilities.
