Security Forces resolve to defeat nefarious attempts of neighbouring country: LG Sinha Admin to give land for Sainik Colonies in Kashmir, Jammu, Rs 25 lakh ex-gratia to NoK’s of fallen heroes to be hiked

Jammu Tawi, Jan 14: Stating that  the nation will forever remain indebted to our soldiers, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday said that the security forces are working in coordination to defeat nefarious attempts of neighbouring country to disrupt peace in Jammu Kashmir.

Sinha after paying tributes to the martyrs on the occasion of Armed Forces Veterans' Day, during an interaction with Veterans, Veer Naris and Next of Kins of the bravehearts of Armed Forces at Raj Bhawan here said, “the nation will forever remain indebted to our soldiers, who are safeguarding the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country. Welfare of the ex-servicemen is top priority of the administration.

“Police, Army, CAPFs are working in coordination to defeat the nefarious attempts of the neighbouring country to disrupt peace in Jammu Kashmir,” the LG said.

He said, “Terrorism is breathing its last breath. I am confident that our ex-servicemen will continue to make their important contribution in the fight against terrorism.”

“In the recent security review meeting, I advocated that ex-servicemen including officers, soldiers, policemen should be roped in for the decisive fight against the terrorism,” the LG said.

He said that Rs 25 lakh ex-gratia for the families of fallen soldiers was too less. “I will ensure that the amount is raised this year only,” the LG said.

Sinha said that this year the J&K administration will give land for construction of Sainik Colonies in both Kashmir and Jammu so that families and NoK's of fallen heroes .

He appealed to all citizens to generously contribute towards the welfare of ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris.

“It is our collective responsibility and our foremost duty to ensure that our veterans and the families of our martyrs live a life of dignity,” the LG said.

Sinha assured every support from the administration in terms of availability of land for Sainik Colonies in both regions of Kashmir and Jammu.

“We are also determined to increase the ex-gratia as a mark of respect to our Army bravehearts,” he added.

The Lt Governor also honoured the Veer Naris on the occasion.
