Man arrested on suspicion of assault after 'disturbance' in pub

A man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, common assault and a public order offence

A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage after a 'disturbance' at a pub in north Manchester.

Officers were called to the venue on Old Market Street in Blackley at around 9:30pm on Saturday night (March 3) following reports of a 'disturbance'. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a large police presence near Ye Golden Lion pub, but is unknown whether the disturbance is linked to this pub.

Police said one man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, common assault and a public order offence and was remanded into custody.

In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: "Police were called to a disturbance at a pub on Old Market Street in Blackley at around 9.30pm last night (Saturday March 3).

"A man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, common assault and a public order offence and was remanded into custody."
