Police officers searching for man who has been missing from Winlaton for over a week have issued a fresh plea for help finding him.

Gary Bradford, 46, was first reported missing from the Hallgarth Road area on Sunday, January 28. Those searching for him are increasingly concerned for his welfare, police said. Their enquiries remain ongoing, with a CCTV footage having been reviewed, but "extensive" work so far has not resulted in Mr Bradford being found.

He is white, five foot ten, slim, clean shaven and has short brown hair. The missing man also has a number of tattoos, including a tribal design on one arm and a tattoo of a family member on both arms. When he was last scene he was wearing a cap, a red hooded jacket with a blue t-shirt, and black trousers.

Sergeant David Willis of Northumbria Police said: "It has been more than a week since Gary was reported missing and extensive enquiries have unfortunately not yet led us to find him.

"Therefore, I continue to appeal to members of the community, in particular those in the Blaydon and Winlaton areas of Gateshead, for their help.”

"We would urge people with CCTV or doorbell cameras in these areas to review their footage, and also to please check gardens and outhouses. Any information, no matter how insignificant you feel it may be, could prove crucial to our search."

Gary, or anyone who has seen him, is asked to contact Northumbria Police immediately by calling 101 quoting reference number: NP-20240129-0488.
