Man, 19, in hospital with 'life threatening' injuries after stabbing

A 19-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after being attacked in south London.

Police and paramedics were called to Loughborough Road, Lambeth shortly before 7pm on Saturday night to reports of a stabbing.

The teenage victim was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, where his condition was described as ‘life-threatening’, according to the Met Police.

A man was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice in relation to a bicycle being taken from the scene.

He was later also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Detectives from the Met’s Central South CID are leading the investigation.

They are appealing for anyone with information or any witnesses yet to speak with police to contact them via 101 or Twitter.

It is the second stabbing in Loughborough Road within months, after a 36-year-old man was knifed there on August 28.

He was taken to hospital with injuries described as non life-threatening or life-changing.
