Body found in Glasgow as police probe 'unexplained' sudden death of man

The force does not believe it to be suspicious but an investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

A man has been found dead in Glasgow with police now launching an investigation into the 'unexplained' death.

Emergency services, including police and paramedics, raced to Buccleuch Street just before 8.30am on December 20 following the sudden death.

The force does not believe it to be suspicious but an investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.20am on Wednesday, 20 December, 2023, officers were called to Buccleuch Street, Glasgow, following the sudden death of a man.

"The death is being treated as unexplained but is not thought to be suspicious. Enquiries are ongoing. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."

A Scottish Ambulance spokesperson said: "We received a call today at 08:16 hours to attend an incident on Buccleuch Street in Glasgow.

"We dispatched a rapid response unit and one ambulance to the scene."
