Fundraisers for Kippford RNLI are looking for people to answer their SOS call.

Their ever popular Soup On Saturday event will take place in Kippford Village Hall on Saturday, January 27.

Everyone is welcome from 12noon to enjoy a bowl of tasty, homemade soup and a selection of sandwiches, with entry £7 per person.

Kippford RNLI fundraising chairman, Cheryl McLellan, said: “The Soup on Saturday is a perfect way to start our year and lovely warm soup is ideal in January and we expect the event to be well attended.

“As we enter the 200th anniversary year it’s great to be able to remind people about the lifesaving work the RNLI undertake all year round. The volunteers are Kippford train hard to be able to assist those in trouble and events like these help to fund the station and lifeboat.”

More fundraising events will be announced on the Kippford RNLI Facebook page over the course of 2024 with plans to involve the community in as many ways as possible to celebrate 200 years of saving lives at sea.
