Community prepares to say goodbye to 'loving' great, great grandmother

Kimat Kaur Landa, who had ten great great grandchildren, died aged 91

A community is preparing to say goodbye to their 'caring and loving' great-great grandmother. The family of Kimat Kaur Landa, from Kings Heath, are expecting more than 600 people to pay their respects following her death aged 91.

Mrs Landa, a devoted Sikh, was a mother of nine and grandmother to 17. She also had 19 great-grandchildren and ten great, great grandchildren.

One of her grandchildren, Hardab Landa, 42, said she was popular, loving and always made people feel wanted. He said: "She was known for being a bubbly, caring loving person."

"She witnessed her fifth generation being born and her family was her achievement. She was strong and kept everyone together.

"She died of old age. We are going to have a big funeral for her and are expecting more than 600 people.

"We are going to have a dozen cars, horse and carriage. The funeral will be held at on Monday, December 11 at 248 Moseley Road Sikh Temple, Highgate. Hardab said all were welcome.
