Dancing on Ice viewers have called for some changes to the ITV show's judging panel. Their comments came as Ashley Banjo was once again absent from the show.

Ashley, who has been a judge on the ITV programme since 2018, has been replaced by American figure skater Johnny Weir for the third week. The flamboyantly dressed judge has gone down a storm with most fans.

Ashley is due to return to his seat next to Oti Mabuse on the judging panel next week for the sem-finals. The dancer has been away on tour with his Diversity dance troupe, who won Britain's Got Talent.

But it seems viewers would be happy to keep Johnny on the panel. Ali Green wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "No!!! We need to start a protest to keep Johnny! #DancingOnIce."

Jay said: "Gutted itz Jonny Weirs last week, he miles better than Ashley Banjo and is a great addition to the judging panel." Yvonne commented: "Personally think Johnny as been breath fresh air."

Adam added: "Please have Johnny back next year.. he’s the perfect bridge with performance+ ice knowledge and has been super refreshing #DancingOnIce."

Johnny has carved out a successful career as a Winter Olympics skater and now a commentator. He was the youngest U.S. National champion since 1991

Oti Mabuse is the newest judge on Dancing on Ice. She joined the panel in 2022 after leaving Strictly Come Dancing.

Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill have been on the judging panel since the show was rebooted in 2018.

The semi-final of Dancing on Ice is on ITV1 next Sunday night. You can also watch it on ITVX, and catch up with old episodes there too.
