Something for the Weekend – 16/03/24
by Stefan L · tsaThe sun is out and shining in my part of the world, with a lovely spring day coinciding with the end of this year’s Six Nations. It feels like a foregone conclusion that Ireland will wrap things up against Scotland, but maybe I’m just trying to jinx them for a surprise final day turnaround that sees Scotland, France or England win it instead? Imagine the drama!
But on to the video games chatter from the past week.
In the News This Week
There’s no more E3, but all eyes will still turn to LA in early June, as per usual.
- Summer Game Fest 2024 confirmed for 7th June, and it’s opening up to the public
- Final Fantasy 16 PC port is in “final stages of optimisation”, with PC demo also planned
- MultiVersus is relaunching on 28th May
- Embracer has officially sold off Saber Interactive
- System Shock Remake comes to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One May 21st
- Deceit 2 goes free to play, coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
- Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown roadmap builds up to new story DLC later this year
- Helldivers 2 bugs can fly now, despite what Arrowhead’s boss tells you
- Star Wars Battlefront collection suffers server issues and bugs at launch

Here’s what you in our community have been up to this week:
- MrYd’s carried on with Diablo 4, Helldivers 2 and managed to wrap up A Plague Tale: Requiem, and grabbed the Jeff Minter Llamasoft collection, but then he made the “terrible mistake” of buying Balatro and sinking into the “horribly addictive” game of “weird poker”, all of which means it comes “highly recommended”.
