‘Very unlikely’ – Journalist dismisses chances of ‘unrealistic’ Manchester United deal

Despite recent rumours claiming Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund could be negotiating a swap between Jadon Sancho and Donyell Malen, the German media now comes up with a bucket of cold water on that story.

Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg writes on Twitter that the operation is ‘very unlikely’ at this stage.

The reporter says that all parties involved consider the swap ‘unrealistic’, as neither Manchester United nor Borussia Dortmund have been planning that exchange.
Plettenberg stands by the reports made by Sky saying Malen wants to leave the Bundesliga side, but makes it clear that he’s not a ‘hot topic’ at the Red Devils for now.

In case Manchester United do get interested in the player, then there’s the fact that Erik ten Hag is represented by the same agency as him.

Malen has five goals and two assists for Borussia Dortmund this season, and despite his wish to leave, he’s still used at the German club.

Sancho lives in a completely different situation, as despite three games at the start of the season, he’s been banned by Ten Hag since.
