Trampoline flips across a garden during Storm Isha's 100mph gusts

by · Mail Online

This is the moment a trampoline as it flips across a garden and crashes into furniture during Storm Isha's 100mph winds.

A video shows how the equipment is picked up by a strong gust of wind and is thrown over the lawn.

Hit by the full power of Storm Isha, the trampoline lands upside down in the middle of a garden table and chairs where it continues to be battered by the ongoing gale.

The video also shows other furniture rocking and swaying in the gusts as the trampoline settles nearby.

Storm Isha thrashed the country over the weekend and left five people dead in its wake.

In Scotland, an 84-year-old man was killed after a Hyundai car crashed into a fallen tree on the A905, Beancross Road in Grangemouth on Sunday evening. Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other occupants of the vehicle were not injured.

And in Northern Ireland a man in his 60s has died in a road collision involving two vans and a fallen tree in Limavady, Co Londonderry, on Sunday night, the Police Service of Northern Ireland has said.

Thousands of people were left without power as Isha brought chaos to the electricity and transport networks across the UK.

Trees were battered down by the gales which led to road closures and the high-speed nature of the winds alone closed roads across the country.

Air travel also came to a halt as flights were cancelled and some were even diverted to other countries.

A new tempest named Storm Jocelyn is hot on the heels of Storm Isha and is set to hit the UK with further disruption from as early as this afternoon.

The Met Office issued amber and yellow wind warnings for all of the country apart from southern England.

Yellow rain warnings are set for North West England and Scotland.

Gusts of 80mph could hit exposed areas, with up to 2in (50mm) of rain, according to the national forecaster.
