by Sarah Clapson, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/sarah-clapson/ · Birmingham LiveAston Villa are said to have rebuffed an attempt by Nottingham Forest to sign youngster Lamare Bogarde.
The 20-year-old returned to Villa in January after a second loan spell at Bristol Rovers was cut short. He has been handed minutes by Unai Emery in pre-season but could look to continue his development elsewhere in the upcoming campaign.

However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano says Villa are now set to extend the Dutchman’s contract as they look to tie him down for the future. The decision comes after a “proposal” from Forest was rejected.
Romano's post on social media says the plan is for Bogarde to go out on loan in the 2024/25 season. He is said to have a number of admirers, but only the “right project” will be chosen. It has previously been reported the holding midfielder had loan interest from Championship sides and from abroad.
