Southport rioter hit by two bricks in 10 seconds - and the second is a low blow
WARNING - DISTRESSING CONTENT: A video clip of the violent thugs in Southport shows one man in a grey tracksuit being hit by a brick in the head, before a second one hits him in a very sensitive place
by William Morgan · Birmingham LiveOn Tuesday evening, Southport was subjected to a harrowing scene as far-right and English Defence League rioters, branded "thugs" by Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, wreaked havoc on their streets. They dismantled brick walls to use as missiles against the police and set fire to residents cars - just one day after the community was left reeling from the horrific mass stabbing at a Taylor Swift dance class that claimed the lives of three young children.
However, amidst the circulating social media footage of the violent protest, one video captured a rioter confronting the police, only to be struck in the head by a flying brick. After feeling the impact and checking for blood, the man, dressed in a full grey Polo tracksuit, is dealt a second, more painful blow as another brick hits him squarely in the groin.
The initial brick, intended for the police, is followed by another that flies through the air and lands with incredible precision on the rioter's groin, causing him to double over in agony. In a moment that will resonate with many, the footage shows the man, who had been advancing towards the police line aggressively just seconds earlier, now hobbling away in evident distress, reports the Mirror.

During the chaotic scenes in Southport, where a staggering 39 Merseyside Police officers were injured and a Major Incident was declared by the North West Ambulance Service, rioters were caught on camera checking on a man's wellbeing amidst the violence. As the masked crowd continued to launch missiles at the police, one voice is heard questioning the accuracy of those throwing bricks.
A viewer of the footage on social media remarked: "serves him right". Meanwhile, another user shared the clip, commenting: "Whatever your take on the goings on in Southport, this is inarguably very funny."
"Concussion, no b******** and nicked tomorrow for rioting."
Assistant Chief Constable Alex Goss, in a late-night statement following the riots, said in a statement: "Tonight, Merseyside Police has faced serious violence in Southport and I am so proud to have witnessed off-duty officers (many of whom had not long finished a full shift) parade back on duty to support their colleagues who had displayed such courage whilst under constant and sustained attack."
He also extended gratitude to the officers from Greater Manchester Police, Cheshire Police, Lancashire Police, and North Wales Police for their assistance and mutual aid.
He added: "Sadly, offenders have destroyed garden walls so they could use the bricks to attack our officers and have set cars belonging to the public on fire, and damaged cars parked in the Mosque car park. This is no way to treat a community, least of all a community that is still reeling from the events of Monday."
"We would appeal to anyone who has information or video footage of those involved in this shocking behaviour to come forward so we can identify and arrest those responsible."
