Amazon shoppers warned they could miss out on free cash this Christmas

Amazon shoppers have been hit with an urgent warning ahead of Christmas.

Customers could be missing out on free cash as they as they seek out last-minute gifts with the global retailer. Experts have said last-minute Amazon shoppers are missing out on up to £10 for their favourite good cause or charity because they don’t know about a little-known website, easyfundraising.

Many customers don't know they could get a free £10 donation if they sign up to Amazon Music. If you’re planning on taking out a streaming subscription as a Christmas gift, this could prove hugely beneficial to both the recipient and your favourite good cause or charity.

Other Amazon shopping can trigger up to a 0.5% donation and it’s all free, meaning it won’t cost the customer a penny extra on their bill.

How does it work?

Customers go to the easyfundraising website or app, find the shop they want to purchase from, buy the items they want and then at the end of the process, they can select their favourite good cause or charity to donate to. The brand will make the donation, not the customer, and the cost to the customer will remain the same.

Charities you can donate to through easyfundraising include the bigger ones such as Macmillan and the British Heart Foundation as well as smaller, grassroots groups.

The scheme's CEO James Moir said: "Christmas is almost here away so the days coming up are going to be crucial for shoppers doing their last few bits of buying in preparation for the big occasion.

“Amazon is huge online retailer offering customers vastly different products. There has never been a better time to buy from them to find something that may put a smile on someone’s face this festive season.

“If you do, before you go to the Amazon website, consider checking out the easyfundraising platform. There’s a website and app and Amazon are one of the many brands on there, offering customers free cash for charities."
