Teen threatened with knife by masked men in 'violent' robbery

A teenager was attacked by masked men during a robbery.

Merseyside Police were called to Heath Road in Allerton on Saturday, May 4 to reports of a robbery at around 7.15pm. An 18-year-old was riding his black and grey Trek Powerfly e-bike when he was approached by two men on a black Sur-Ron e-Bike.

Police said one of the men was wearing all black clothing and a balaclava and the other, who was "light skinned" with dark blonde curly hair, was wearing a blue light jacket. The victim was threatened with a knife by one of the men who was riding at the front of the bike and assaulted.

The man wearing the blue jacket stole the bike and rode off towards Liverpool Southpark Way. The victim suffered injuries to his face and knee.

An investigation was launched and officers have released a picture of the stolen electric mountain bike after carrying out CCTV enquiries in the area. Detectives are appealing for anyone who saw the attack or who has further CCTV or dashcam footage to contact police.

Detective Inspector Chris Carlin said described the attack as "violent" and "terrifying". He added the victim was left "fearing for his own safety".
