A mum said her children "don't recognise her" after she was attacked in a bar.

Aimee, who did not want to give her last name, went for a meal with her parents and partner in Formby on Saturday, November 25. Following this, the family decided to visit bar Lux 37 at around 9pm.

The mum said at around 11pm she told her family she was nipping to the toilet before they left the venue. Aimee said when she left the cubicle she was met by two women and one suddenly "punched her in the face".

Speaking to the ECHO, she said: "The next thing I remember was a man standing over me and I just remember the grey on his trainers. He then stamped all over my face and left me unconscious."

The man allegedly stamped on Aimee's head numerous times and the attackers reportedly ran off from the scene and Aimee was left unconscious in the bathroom. A woman thankfully found her and alerted her family that Aimee was injured.

Aimee suffered two black eyes, a fractured eye socket, jaw, nose and ribs and suffered several cuts to her head. Aimee now wants anyone with information to come forward to help try and catch the preparators.

She told the ECHO: "I won't go out like this. I have kids and they have had to see me like this. My kids don't recognise me with my face all swollen. My mum has had to go on the school runs."

Merseyside Police confirmed they received a report of an assault at Lux 37 bar on Saturday, November 25.
