Swans in race for talent

Football Insider report Swansea are battling with rivals Cardiff City and Bristol City to sign non-League talent Jordan Thomas.

Twenty-two-year-old Thomas plays for National League South side Bath City and had 23 EFL clubs watch him in action against Yeovil Town last week.

His goalscoring record for a winger is sound, with a return of eight goals in 19 appearances so far this season.

He has been billed as the "next big thing" to come out of the lower reaches of the football pyramid. Bath are unlikely to stand in the player's way if an offer should arrive, the same publication states.

Swansea are currently without a permanent manager following the sacking of Michael Duff last week. They have dipped into the free transfer market in recent weeks, signing former Crystal Palace and Everton winger Yannick Bolasie on a short-term contract.

Sheehan ready to go again

Swansea interim boss Alan Sheehan says he and his team are ready to go again this evening after a morale-boosting win at the weekend.

Sheehan and Co secured a 2-1 win over Rotherham United on Saturday and go in search of another three points this evening at Stoke.

This could be his last in the Swansea dugout, with the search for the next manager still ongoing but Sheehan says he and the players will give it their all

"We enjoyed the victory at the weekend but the focus has had to switch very quickly to this game," he said. "Wins are the Championship are hard to come by, but we need to try and make it a habit.

"If we train and prepare in the same fashion we did last week, then it will give us the best chance of putting a run together.

"It's a quick turnaround, but it's down to us to continue to give it everything as a group and as a club, and be ready to perform and go again."

Early team news

Stoke look likely to be without former Swans centre-back Ben Wilmot (knee) and winger Sead Haksabanovic (groin) tonight at the Bet365 Stadium, while Emre Tezgel is also expected to miss out.

Tommy Simkin may well fill in for Jack Bonham once again. Bonham was taken to hospital with illness last week. Tyrese Campbell could potentially return after missing the defeat to Sheffield Wednesday with a knock.

Swansea have no fresh injury concerns, but remain without Joe Allen, Mykola Kuharevich, Harrison Ashby, Azeem Abdulai, Nathan Wood and Josh Ginnelly.
