My mission to Senate is to help build better Nigeria, says Anthony Ani

The ruling All Progressive Party (APC) candidate for the Ebonyi South senatorial rerun Prof. Anthony Ani said that his decision to contest the senate position for Ebonyi South is because he wants to contribute to the building of a future and better Nigeria.

Prof. Ani a renounced Academician in a chat with journalists added that another reason for his decision to run for the position was mounting demand for him by his people to go to the Senate to give them effective representation.

He noted that Nigeria needs an urgent economic turnaround and those who should be sent to the Senate should be men of substance and require maturity, experience, and intelligence to move the country forward.

The position of Ebonyi South’s senatorial seat became vacant following the resignation of the former Deputy Senate Leader Send. David Umahi who is now the Minister of Works.

“When I analyse the situation of our country I discovered that Nigeria is in a very critical situation, Nigeria is also in a cross road and whoever will represent us at the Senate must be people of substance,” Ani said.

According to him, the Senate needs people who will stand for truth, who will lobby to get something for their people, because Nigeria is a country where you have to fight and struggle for your people, if you don’t struggle for your people others will take your people’s share. And that is why I have accepted to go and represent the zone”.

Ani further stated that if elected he will attract government present to the zone noting that those that have represented the zone before had not really done enough to justify the confidence the people gave them.

The APC candidate who was last week received supports by the stakeholders from the zone said that he will not disappoint his people but promised to deliver qualitative representation to the zone

He praised the transformational breakthrough recorded so far by Mr. President adding that with some of them in the Senate the president will record more successes.

“Ebonyi South is our inheritance and I think with my people support and prayers, I want to say that with humility and dedication, with the will of God I will not disappoint you all” he said”.
