UPDATED: MetMalaysia forecasts thunderstorms, heavy rain, strong winds for several areas nationwide until 6pm

KUCHING (July 30): The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a weather alert for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds to persist in several areas nationwide until 6pm today.

In Sarawak, MetMalaysia stated that such weather conditions can be expected in Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), and Miri (Subis).

As for Sabah, similar adverse weather is expected in the Interior region of Keningau and Tawau (Semporna).

MetMalaysia said similar adverse weather conditions are also expected Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang, Selama, Hulu Perak, and Kuala Kangsar), Kelantan (Tumpat, Kota Bharu, Jeli, Bachock, and Pasir Puteh), Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, and Dungun), Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Bera, and Rompin), Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu and Jempol), and Johor (Segamat).
