Suspect sought after shooting incident in Serian

SERIAN (July 8): The police are looking for a suspect who is believed to have used a shotgun to shoot and wound three men behind a supermarket at Mile 19, Jalan Kuching-Serian here early this morning.

According to Padawan district police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, the police were notified about the incident at 1.57am.

“A 26-year-old local man reported that three of his friends were shot behind the supermarket.

“Investigations found that the victims; one aged 24 and two others aged 25, sustained gunshot wounds to their bodies,” he added.

Mohd Irwan Hafiz stated that the victims are currently receiving treatment at the Sarawak General Hospital and are in stable condition.

The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code and Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971.
