Three Tottenham players who could leave in January amid Ange Postecoglou transfer plea

Ange Postecoglou will be preparing to plead with owner Daniel Levy regarding January additions, as the depth of his squad continues to be tested. Recent injuries to James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, Rodrigo Bentancur and others have seen the Lilywhites slip from their once table-of-the-table occupation to battling for the UEFA Champions League places once again.

It's clear many face question marks over their futures with a need to raise vital funds. Despite the departure of talisman and captain Harry Kane just before the summer window slammed shut, Spurs are yet to find a suitable replacement for the club's all-time leading scorer.

Hugo Lloris

With goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario seemingly solidifying himself as the club's number one ever since his arrival in the summer, Hugo Lloris has not had a sniff after his poor showings across the whole of the 2022/23 campaign for the club.

Said to be attracting attention from the likes of clubs in Italy, Lloris looks likely to once again attempt to push through a January switch given he is yet to play a single minute of football under the former Celtic boss.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has started just three Premier League games for Spurs so far this season, and, with age still relatively on his side, Levy may look to cash in on a player desperate to secure more and more game time as he reaches a key point in his career.

Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr have seemingly nailed down their places at the heart of the Lilywhites midfielder and even with plenty of faces missing from their matchday squad lately, it seems Hojbjerg has lost some level of trust in his capabilities over the last six to eight months.

Eric Dier

Starting just one Premier League game all season, it remains to be seen where Eric Dier's next move is likely to take him. Rumoured to be of interest for Galatasaray, Dier has even been unable to squeeze his way in given the injury seen to Van de Ven, which in turn speaks volumes.

At 29, the Three Lions international still has plenty of football left to play but whether another move abroad comes calling, it seems unlikely that he will continue to lay in wait on the Tottenham subs bench as each passing week goes by.
