Noni Madueke and Cole Palmer were on fire in Chelsea's huge Premier League win against Luton Town at Kenilworth Road. The attacking duo were both among the goal contributions with Palmer bagging a brace either side of Madueke's strike that was assisted by Palmer.

Mauricio Pochettino made a bold decision ahead of the game by choosing to leave Raheem Sterling out of the starting XI with Madueke rewarded for his winning goal against Crystal Palace earlier in the week. Christopher Nkunku, in another huge Pochettino call, was also named on the substitutes bench after playing over 100 minutes in the last few days.

While Sterling did not make the cut, Palmer was straight back in after serving his one-match ban with the England international justifying Pochettino's decision by opening the scoring with a fierce left-footed strike. Madueke then doubled the visitors' advantage with his weaker foot from a tight angle after taking control of a Palmer pass.

Despite both goals being superb strikes, the third from Palmer was exquisite on a technical level and was hugely impressive as he raced through on goal before rounding the Luton goalkeeper and sitting down a defender, allowing him to roll into an empty net.

Following the third goal, Chelsea looked set to end their run of consecutive defeats away from home but late goals from Ross Barkley and Elijah Adebayo resulted in a nervy final few minutes. Thankfully for Pochettino, Chelsea were able to hold on with Palmer and Madueke speaking moments after the full time whistle which saw the latter reveal a fitting nickname for Chelsea's man of the match.

Asked about his second goal, Palmer said: "When I took it around the keeper I thought the other guy was going to come across fast, so I waited a second and then I had time to put it in." Madueke then chipped in: "That’s why they call him ‘Cold Palmer’", with the duo then bursting out into laughter.

Three more goal contributions for Palmer has taken his tally for the season to 16 but he believes there is still more to come. "Hopefully this is just the start," Palmer boldly admitted. "I have adapted to a new life as quick as possible with my new team-mates, the city, everything is new to me so hopefully I can show more on the pitch as well."
