Arsenal full squad vs Wolves revealed with Jurrien Timber update and Bukayo Saka decision
Arsenal news as Mikel Arteta looks to respond to midweek European disappointment with the perfect chance to put their Premier League title aspirations back on track against Wolves
by Tom Coley · football.londonIt's all hands on deck now for Arsenal. The objective for Mikel Arteta's side is clear. Without distractions of Europe and the Champions League, getting back on the horse to extend the title race is paramount.
The Gunners still have the chance to end the Premier League weekend top and only an improbably enormous Sunday afternoon win for Liverpool can change that. Manchester City could be four points off the summit by the time they are next in league action, and the chance to revert the pressure is now.
Arteta will need to help his side overcome the mental and physical strain that has drowned them in the past week though. Defeats to Aston Villa and Bayern Munich have left things hanging by a thread with questions now being aimed towards what progress Arsenal have actually made since last season.
One of the key things for the head coach to prove is that he is able to manage a squad effectively. This is now the third year in a row that his side have come unstuck in April and the drop-off in form of Bukayo Saka in particular has raised concern.
Arteta relies on his first-choice players more than either Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp do, and many conclude that it pays its toll at this stage of the season. Now, with immediate attention on travelling to Wolves just days after returning from Germany, the manager must balance results now with the knowledge of yet another away trip to Chelsea to come in midweek.
His squad is almost fully available for the match at Molineux on Saturday evening, but worries over fatigue remain. Jurrien Timber is the only player expected to miss the game as he continues to ramp up his workload towards a return.

The Dutch defender is now waiting for the green light to play for the club's academy side before being reintegrated back into the matchday squad with his senior teammates. "It’s too soon," Arteta said when asked if he could be involved in the Midlands this weekend.
"He’s gonna play a game with the 23s and after that we will see better how he feels. He looks really good in training, but it’s that last big step, we need to see if he’s ready and how it’s going to go."
Despite fears over a first-half injury to Martin Odegaard in Bavaria he is fine to play once more. The captain completed the game and will now be looking to react.
Whilst Arteta may have to rotate his starting XI to keep players fresh there is not likely to be significant movement away from the squads he has been naming in recent weeks. Fabio Vieira could find himself struggling to be involved though due to the recovery of key players in recent weeks.
Here, football.london has predicted the most likely group selected for the game.
Goalkeepers: David Raya, Aaron Ramsdale
Defenders: Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior
Midfielders: Declan Rice, Jorginho, Emile Smith Rowe, Thomas Partey, Martin Odegaard
Attackers: Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, Reiss Nelson, Leandro Trossard, Eddie Nketiah
