Manchester City and Jack Grealish were left furious at referee Simon Hooper following the 3-3 draw against Tottenham Hotspur. The two sides played out a Premier League thriller at the Etihad Stadium that had everything.

Son Heung-min had put Spurs 1-0 ahead in the sixth minute before accidently putting the ball into his own net from a free-kick. City went ahead for the first time when Phil Foden rounded-off a brilliant team goal but Giovani Lo Celso dragged Spurs level.

Grealish came off the bench to put the hosts 3-2 ahead and on course to cut the gap to Arsenal at the top. However, Dejan Kulusevski continued his impressive record against the Citizens with a header in the 90th minute.

The drama didn't stop there and City were denied the chance to score a winner when referee Simon Hooper stopped play with Grealosh clear on goal in added time. Having waved play on for a foul on Erling Haaland, Hooper halted the game after the striker put Grealish in behind the Spurs defence.

Haaland, Grealish and the entirety of City's squad were visibly angered by the decision, with Pep Guardiola venting his frustration at fourth official Anthony Taylor on the touchline.

After the game, Guardiola refused to comment on the referee's decision while Haaland took to X, formerly Twitter, to question Hooper's decision. And on Instagram, Grealish broke his silence on the eventful clash at the Etihad Stadium.

Writing alongside two pictures of him celebrating his first Premier League goal of the season, the England international said: "Gutted we couldn't hold on to the win, felt like we deserved more from the game," along with a sad emoji.

City are now three points behind league leaders Arsenal following the draw while Tottenham stay outside the top four places by two points.
