Pregnant Emily Atack makes racy Bobby Brazier joke as he comes to her rescue at BAFTA TV Awards
Mum-to-be Emily Atack couldn't help but notice how times have changed on Sunday night, as EastEnders actor Bobby Brazier helped the heavily pregnant star out at the BAFTA TV Awards
by Zoe Delaney · The MirrorEmily Atack has hilariously pointed out just how different her life is ahead of becoming a mother for the first time.
The heavily pregnant star, 34, made a cheeky joke about Strictly Come Dancing star Bobby Brazier on social media on Sunday night as she attended the BAFTA TV Awards just weeks before giving birth to her unborn baby.
Before announcing her surprise pregnancy at the end of last year, The Inbetweeners actress often found herself romantically linked to many famous men, including Manchester City and England footballer Jack Grealish and pop heartthrob Harry Styles, as she enjoyed single life.
But since falling pregnant with her step-cousin Alistair Garner's baby, Emily's life has drastically changed over recent months. While the fun-loving star would have once been partying into the early morning hours at after-parties, Emily was tucked up in bed once the BAFTA TV Awards ceremony wrapped up on Sunday night.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, the mum-to-be shared snaps of herself at the glitzy event. The TV presenter looked radiant in a beautiful baby blue gown and delicate, sparkling jewellery as she cradled her bump. She also shared a cute picture of EastEnders actor Bobby looking dapper in his tux as he helped her down a step inside London's Royal Festival Hall.
"Gone from leaving the club at 4 am with the young gorgeous men to them having to help me down the sodding stairs," Emily captioned her snap with Bobby, 20. She added: Christ how things have changed. Thank you dear @bobbyvrazier x [laughing face emoji.]
Back in March, Emily confirmed the sex of her unborn child, while also expressing her intention to raise her son to respect women. The actress, who is expecting a boy with her scientist boyfriend, has long been an advocate for changes in sexual consent laws. She has also spoken out about the misogynistic and intimidating abuse she has received online, revealing that she has been inundated with explicit images in the past.
Speaking about her hopes for her son, Emily said: "I want him to be a part of a really positive change. It starts with education... we need to have these conversations." Appearing on BBC Breakfast, Emily shared her belief in the importance of affirmative consent in sexual relationships, saying people should provide "clear and enthusiastic communication" rather than simply not saying "no".
She clarified: "It may not be the perfect solution but [we want] to flip it around and say, we're going to make this much easier - did that person say yes? ... This is something we need boys and girls, men and women to work together on. Good education, underpinned with a change in law, is a start."
Last week, shared her excitement over becoming a mother as she posed for a photo showcasing her growing baby bump, which she captioned on Instagram as: "Like a hen sitting on an egg." The entertainer broke the news of her pregnancy last December, announcing it on New Year's Eve .
In an online post, she described her mixed emotions, saying: "I've never been so happy and utterly terrified at the same time. Every day is mixed with thrill, fear, joy, hysteria, topped off with a lot of vomiting - a bit like when you've just stepped off of the Oblivion at Alton Towers on a hangover."
She added: "I've got to know my body on such an insane level. It's made me appreciate the one I've been given so much, I'm doing my absolute best to make it a home for the little squid I'm growing. We can already sense the baby is reclined on a mattress of peanut butter and jam sandwiches in there, demanding more chocolate buttons."
