by Jenna Campbell · Manchester Evening NewsIt's one of Manchester's best known Irish pubs, and this summer it be expanding - promising to bring more 'craic, music and good times' to the city centre.
Mulligans Irish Pub, a traditional backstreet boozer located just off Deansgate has confirmed it will be opening a brand-new upstairs area. The new space will launch to the public on Friday, 30 August.
Already famous for its queues around the corner and live music performances, Mulligans new upstairs area will more than double the pub's capacity, providing more space for guests and live performances.

Earlier this year, the city centre boozer, which is said to serve the 'best pint of Guinness outside of Ireland' was named one of the best pubs in the UK to enjoy the Irish stout. In the lead up to St Patrick’s Day, Mulligans was crowned one of the top 10 pubs in the country for a perfect pint of Guinness by the brewery.
The pub was the only one in the North West to make the list curated by Guinness, with its entry reading: “Based just off Deansgate in the heart of Manchester, Mulligans is the oldest Irish Pub in the city and is renowned for having the best pint of Guinness.”

Once opened, the upstairs area will be open Thursdays and Fridays from 5pm, and from 2pm on Saturday. The grand opening of the new space will take place on Friday, 30 August.
