United went in front when Rasmus Hojlund scored for the fourth game in a row with a fine first-half finish. Alejandro Garnacho added a second early in the second period when he cut inside to score.

READ MORE: Martinez injury scare
Andre Onana: Made a good early save from Edson Alvarez's ricochet and dealt dependably with other attempts on target. 7
Diogo Dalot: Pitted against Mohammed Kudus, who switched flanks, and fared well in a tight duel. Brilliantly covered for Harry Maguire's mistake to deny Jarrod Bowen. 8
Harry Maguire: Back in the starting XI for the first time in almost two months and produced one of his strongest performances of the season until he let Emerson Palmieri in. Did likewise for Bowen. 6
Lisandro Martinez: Different partner but same Martinez. Often the defender in the way of a pass or a shot. Had to come off after his knee buckled under the weight of Vladimir Coufal. 8
Luke Shaw: Not as probing in the final third as he has been of late but defensively excellent again before and after Kudus switched to the right flank. 7
Casemiro: Not as influential as in midweek but his pressing led to the opening goal and he shielded United vigilantly as they defended their 2-0 advantage. 7
Kobbie Mainoo: Another tidy performance in front of England assistant manager Steve Holland. Earned a standing ovation and congratulations from teammates when he came off. 7
Alejandro Garnacho: Pocketed by Emerson Palmieri in the first half but wriggled out of it to score early in the second, via a deflection. Then scored again to kill the game. 8
Bruno Fernandes: Drew a vigilant stop from Alphonse Areola and played the ball to Garnacho for the second goal. Could have scored himself but for an errant touch. 7
Marcus Rashford: Embarked on bright bursts with and without the ball and had some shooting opportunities but not on target today. 6
Rasmus Hojlund: Broke double figures in the goalscoring form with his best goal yet for United. Now has four goals in his last four Premier League games. 9
Subs
Scott McTominay: Assisted Garnacho. 7

Manager
Made one change to rest Varane and United kept a clean sheet, despite West Ham's proactive play. Another good day in the dugout. 8
