by · Manchester Evening News

Wowcher has launched an unmissable offer for anyone looking to switch off their heating at home and still stay toasty warm. As the January sales get into full swing the deals site is selling cosy hoodie blankets that look identical to the popular Oodie brand, and it'll cost you less than £10.

Wearable blankets have become popular with shoppers thanks to their oversized design and fluffy fleeced lining with many wearers calling them a winter warming staple, especially as energy costs are on the rise for many billpayers this new year.

Ofgem's newest price cap increase means the average household will pay an extra 5%, around £94, more a year, so it's no surprise to see the wearable blankets in high demand. Wowcher's cheap £9.99 price has seen more than 14,000 people pick one up in the sale, so you we recommend you act fast before they sell out.

The Soft Sherpa Line Hoodie Blankets come in four different colourways; dark pink, light pink, grey, and blue option, and in only one size so they make a versatile option for anyone, even kids could cosy up in them. The blanket-style hoodies have a thick lining to keep you warm, long sleeves, and a big front pocket.

The hooded blankets are originally from the site Supertrendinuk and would usually set shoppers back £45 each, but Wowcher's cost of living focused January sale has cut the price by a huge £35, which just happens to be the same starting cost of similar style hoodies over at rival Oodie.

The main difference between the cheaper £9.99 Wowcher deal hoodie and Oodies is the brand's range of sizes and unique eye-catching styles, you can even get a matching set here for you and your pet. Dunelm is another retailer which also sells the cosy wearable garment with various styles for £16, another option depending on your budget.

How does Wowcher work? Once you've picked the wearable hoodie in your chosen colour under 'choose options' you head to the checkout to buy the deal - essentially the product you buy is the 'Wowcher code'. After this you'll be sent a code via the email you entered at checkout, from here you follow the link to redeem your code and get your fluffy hooded blanket.

The process is fairly simple and Wowcher explains each step along the way, although we'd advice shoppers check the small print before hitting buy in a January sale rush. As there is an extra £4.99 delivery fee added onto the £9.99 price, it still works out cheaper than most hooded blankets on the market, but it's worth noting first.
