Lisandro Martinez sets target for rest of Manchester United season
Man Utd are out of the Champions League and Carabao Cup after a disappointing first six months of the season.
by Steven Railston · Manchester Evening NewsLisandro Martinez has admitted Manchester United crashing out of the Champions League made him disappointed and he has warned his teammates must now look to win every game for the remainder of the season.
United crashed out of the Champions League after winning just one match, which meant they finished bottom of Group A behind Galatasaray, FC Copenhagen and Bayern Munich.
Erik ten Hag's side also exited the Carabao Cup at the Round of 16 stage when losing against Newcastle in December, while the chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League seem slim. United have regressed this season and Martinez's absence due to a foot injury, which he required further surgery for, has felt significant.

The defender is closing in on a January return from the sidelines and Martinez becoming available again will be a huge boost for United. Martinez has been interviewed by MUTV about his comeback in the New Year and he was asked about his values, which preceded him saying United must now win every game.
"I came from home a beautiful family, with big values, show respect, be humble, be grateful, appreciating every second of life," Martinez said.
"My father, my grandfather, my mum, a lot of people and from the beginning of my life my father said you can improve for everybody and he would say fight for your foot - he would always say that.
"I try to fight and be a good person, to share my love, to be a big example for everybody. I try to win, give everything, so yeah, my family has been really important for this [his personality].
"It's really important to remember when we started and I feel emotional talking about this. You have to be grateful, look at this place [United], the badge, the stadium and the fans, the passion. You have to fight for it.
"It's about millions of people, so we need to be humble. I have to be patient, I will be back very soon. It's my mentality to win everything and we're out of the Champions League, so I'm disappointed.
"But now we need to win every game and achieve everything we can."
