Britain's Got Talent viewers fume at Amanda Holden and say 'shame on you' after incredible act 'misses out'

by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsBritain's Got Talent viewers were left fuming at Amanda Holden after she used the coveted Golden Buzzer for a second time. The TV and radio star was back on the judging panel as the ITV talent show's auditions continued on Sunday night (May 12).
BGT aired towards the end of the weekend viewing after being bumped from its usual Saturday night slot. Viewers who were looking forward to tuning in for the next instalment of BGT on Saturday night were left disappointed as the it had been 'pulled' from the schedule. While a reason wasn't given, the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 was airing on BBC One at the same time.
The latest instalment of audition episodes, which were filmed across London and Manchester earlier in the year, the show began with judges Simon Cowell and Bruno Tonioli visiting a children’s choir called Amasing, where they surprised them by appearing from a giant box.

After their visit, the group took to the stage to sing one of their own songs before being awarded a Yes by all four judges. Next up was an aerialist from Mexico who also won approval across the board after doing acrobatic movements with an elevated hoop. Amanda called her a “true artist” and said the performance was "incredible".
But the panel was also left unimpressed by a number of acts during the episode, including what appeared to be a robot dog that was unable to successfully complete an assault course, and 28-year-old entertainment manager James Digby who performed Whole Again by Atomic Kitten.
Thought it wasn't long before the golden confetti was raining down onto the stage again as an act from Japan who uses his hair to do impressions won Amanda's second golden buzzer of the series. Nabe, who said he wants to "make people smile all over the world", imitated a number of characters including Maleficent, Snoopy, Shaun The Sheep, and Simon Cowell’s chest hair.
The 38-year-old shocked the judges as he brushed his hair into different styles, sometimes adding components like shaving cream. Amanda Holden, who pressed the special buzzer, said: "Normally when I press my golden buzzer I’m then in floods of tears and I do a big speech. This is so different it’s just made me howl. Absolutely laugh my head off."
While many viewers were unimpressed with Amanda's choice, they expressed their upset at the end of the episode following a performance from a blind couple called Denise and Stefan, who met on a train in 2006, who to the stage to perform a song, with Denise singing and Stefan playing the piano.

Simon told them the reality competition show is nothing "without people like you", adding: “I’m so happy that you made the decision to come on our show.” Former Strictly star Bruno was left in tears by the performance and said: “I’m a mess, this show is killing me.”
And BGT viewers felt they should have got a golden buzzer to see them straight through to the live semi-finals. @MrsLouweezy said: "Shame on Amanda wasting a golden buzzer on the hair guy when this act truly deserves it!! #bgt." @lottiefer commented: "How can a man messing his hair up get a golden buzzer but not two very talented blind people? HE PLAYED THE PIANO BLIND!!!!! #bgt."
@Sarah2022x posted: "She was totally worthy of that golden buzzer & Amanda gave it to the [act] that does impressions with his hair!! #BGT." @AbsntFriends wrote: "hat couple should've got the golden buzzer. Immense #BGT." @mariahscracker added: "THIS SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE GOLDEN BUZZER AMANDA! Incredible x #BGT."
