Prison ordered in attempted murder by fire
JOSHUA TREE – (INT) – A San Bernardino County man has drawn a stiff prison sentence for setting fire to a pickup truck with his ex-girlfriend and another man inside.
Prosecutors said that Joshua Adam Kaiser doused gasoline on the victims as they sat in a pickup truck in a remote desert area of Johnson Valley one night in June of 2023. Both suffered extensive burns.
Kaiser was convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison to be followed by two consecutive life sentences of 14 years to life for each victim.
A statement from the District Attorney’s office did not name the victims but said the woman was the mother of Kaiser’s two children. Both victims are still recovering from their burns.
