Prince Harry's weird gift from the Royal Family that he dubbed 'cold-blooded'

The Duke of Sussex discussed the bizarre gift he received from a member of the Royal Family before he stepped down from senior working royal duties.

The Royal Family are known for giving out gag gifts for Christmas, which they exchange on December 24 - in order to honour their German heritage.

Prince Harry enjoyed these traditional festivities before he quit his working royal duties alongside his wife Meghan Markle in 2020, reports the Express. While Harry did appreciate the odd joke gift from his family, there was one present he received from a relative that he described as "cold-blooded".

He wrote all about this unusual gift from his great aunt - and the late Queen's sister - Princess Margaret, or Aunt Margo, in his book Spare.

Harry claimed that he didn't know Aunt Margo well enough, despite sharing "12.5 per cent" of her DNA. He wrote: "Standing before my pile, I chose to open the smallest present first. The tag said: 'From Aunt Margo'. I looked over, called out: 'Thank you, Aunt Margo!'"

As it turned out, the late royal had got him a "special" biro with a rubber fish wrapped around it. Harry added: "It wasn't just any biro, she pointed out. It had a tiny rubber fish wrapped around it. I said: 'Oh. A fish biro! OK.' I told myself: 'That is cold-blooded'."

Harry also wrote that he and Princess Margaret "should've been friends" as the Firm's "two spares", as he said: "Her relationship with Granny wasn't an exact analogue of mine with Willy, but pretty close. The simmering rivalry, the intense competition (driven largely by the older sibling), it all looked familiar.

"Aunt Margo also wasn't that dissimilar from Mummy. Both rebels, both labelled as sirens."
