Man arrested over 'attempted murder' after two people injured at busy McDonald's

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an alleged vicious attack at a busy McDonald's.

Emergency services were scrambled to reports of an assault at the fast food restaurant at the Boreham Interchange at the A12 in Chelmsford, Essex, at around 9.25pm last night.

Two people were found injured and taken into the care of the ambulance service. Their conditions are currently unknown.

Cops are treating the incident as attempted murder and launched a hunt for the suspect, who left the scene by car, Essex Live reports.

Essex Police confirmed the car was located after an extensive search of the local area.

Superintendent Philip Stinger said: "This arrest was thanks to the quick work of our traffic officers, dog units and Operational Support Group. We would like to thank the public for their patience while we remained at the scene."

The police probe into the incident is continuing and anyone with information has been urged to come forward.
