The reason why Bradley Walsh is on our screens more often - and it's down to showbiz pal
An industry source has shed some light on why Bradley's TV diary is so full.
by Kirsten McStay, https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/authors/kirsten-mcstay/ · Daily RecordBradley Walsh is one of most popular TV hosts of our time, and it seems that you can't flick through the channels without seeing him presenting, from The Chase, Blankety Blank and currently, he is the host of the reboot of Gladiators with his son, Barney Walsh, and there's apparently an interesting reason behind this.
Apparently the TV schedule was so full of Bradley that the BBC was forced to make some changes. On Saturday, January 13, viewers were amazed to see that the 63-year-old would be appearing on ten different shows, including The Chase, Breaking Dad, and Casualty.
The day the new episode of Gladiators aired, Bradley was due to appear as a special guest on Michael McIntyre's Big Show. TV bosses released that this might be a case of overkill, the BBC switched things around about the last minute, airing a different, Bradley-free Michael McIntyre episode instead, writes The Mirror.
And now, an industry source has shed some light on why Bradley's TV diary is so full, and it's reportedly partly due to Holly Willoughby's husband.
According to Daily Mail, getting on good terms with Holly's husband Dan Baldwin is key when it comes to getting ahead in the industry.
A successful TV producer who has previously worked on shows such as Celebrity Juice, and The Wheel, Dan is known to be a good friend to have on your side and he and Bradley are known to be as 'thick as thieves'.
An industry source told the publication that Dan and Bradley are 'pretty much inseparable', with Bradley spotted attending the Variety Club awards in London last year with Holly and Dan.
It is also said that Dan has been eager to pair up Holly and Bradley as a duo, and this hope almost came to fruition in 2019 following the screening of a pilot episode of game show Take Off With Bradley And Holly.
It was hoped that this would be a show on par with the iconic Generation Game, however, unfortunately, it wasn't to be, with Covid restrictions putting an end to dreams of a commissioned series.

It's also been reported that Holly's former This Morning Phillip Schofield wasn't too happy about her being part of another double act.
The Sun also reported back in November that Holly is currently considered as a presenter on Gladiators, joining Bradley and Barney for the second season.
The source shared: "The BBC love Brad and Barney, but it's also been proved Brad and Holly have an amazing dynamic as they featured together on the Beeb show Take Off.
"Since Holly's departure from This Morning, lots of channels and broadcasters have been thinking about what she could bring to their shows. And as she's such a big star, she's a natural fit for a huge entertainment show, which the reboot of Gladiators unquestionably is."
