Green Brigade blast Celtic in cutting 'season's greetings' barb as return rumours evaporate in one contentious update
The ultras have taken a fresh swipe at the club ahead of this weekend's clash with Hearts at home.
by Ben Banks, https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/authors/ben-banks/ · Daily RecordThe Green Brigade claim their members have been left counting the cost of their bans in a fresh barb at Celtic.
It was being whispered within sections of the Celtic support that preparations were being made for the ultras returning but now it appears on the backburner as they are already counting the Hearts game in the Premiership on Saturday as a missed match. In a statement to the North Curve X account, the group simply put "season's greetings" with a whole host of numbers to do with their ban.
They suggest each fan has lost £192.20, with 267 in total claimed to be locked out by Parkhead chiefs. It has been ongoing for 58 days, during which time the club has played 13 matches, six of which have been at home. That £192.20 figure has "and counting" attached to it as the ultras use the festive season to shine a spotlight on their Celtic ban.
The group's banner has appeared at away matches Celtic have been involved with since their ban came into effect. But the rail seating section at the club's home ground has been largely dormant since the feud entered its new phase, although Green Brigade members did return to Parkhead last month to welcome the team bus ahead of a 1-1 draw against Motherwell.
