The MP accidentally articulated the Liberal worldview, suggesting Pierre Poilievre's responsible for a Winnipeg shooting, not his own government's policies

Today’s NP Comment Prize for Political Courage must surely go to B.C. Liberal MP Ken Hardie. On Monday morning, as the news wires hummed with news of a dreadful shooting in Winnipeg, Hardie expressed anguish on Twitter and indulged himself in a little speculation about the ultimate culprit:

“Beyond troubling to see another mass shooting in Canada, now in Winnipeg. And we’ve lost so many police officers. Might it be the anti-social ‘burn everything down’ far-right attitude we’re seeing creeping in from the US? And the ‘creep’ on the Canadian side? Pierre Poilievre?”
