Endgame: New royal book makes bombshell claims about 'two racists' and King Charles' Lilibet snub
Omid Scobie's latest book features claims about King Charles, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and Princess Anne, to name a few royals
by Jennifer Newton, Maisie Lillywhite · BristolLiveA new series of allegations and claims have been made against the Royal Family in a bombshell new book released today, November 28. Royal biographer Omid Scobie's latest title "Endgame" has been released in the UK and US today, but snippets of the juicy revelations were leaked last night following the book's release in Australia.
Scobie has penned dramatic new revelations regarding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, King Charles, and the Prince and Princess of Wales in Endgame. The Firm has not yet responded to any of the claims made in the book, despite a number of veiled attacks being made on the family, The Mirror reports.
So what are the biggest bombshells that are contained in the book? We've listed a few of them below.

The Duchess of Sussex told the King of two "royal racists"
One of the most shocking claims in the book is that Meghan accused two members of the Royal Family of discussing their "concerns" over the colour of her son Prince Archie's skin. Harry and Meghan shocked the world as they sat down for a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021 and opened up about their time in The Firm.
During the chat, the couple alleged an unnamed member of the Royal Family had expressed "concerns" about "how dark" Prince Archie's skin would be when he was born. And now it is alleged Meghan named two members of The Firm who made the comments in private letters she wrote to King Charles.
The letters Meghan wrote to Charles are said to have been sent in the spring of 2021, after she and Harry spoke to Oprah. The King is said to have wanted his return letters to express how he felt no "casual prejudice" had been involved. But the names of those involved are not revealed. Mr Scobie claims that he knows the names but "laws in the United Kingdom prevent me from reporting who they were."
However, Harry later sensationally claimed he did not label the Royal Family racist after previously telling the world a senior royal questioned the colour of his unborn son's skin. Addressing the storm for the first time during a 90 minute interview with ITV News at Ten anchor Tom Bradby in January, Harry said the Royal Family were not guilty of racism but of "unconscious bias".
King Charles stern warning about Harry
The relationship between Harry and his father King Charles is also examined in the book and it claims the King circulated a warning message to the Royal Family over his son. The book claims Charles was 'cautious' when speaking to his younger son after the publication of his controversial memoir Spare. In the autobiography, Harry divulged highly personal stories about his royal relatives, including that his father did not hug him after his mother Princess Diana tragically died.
In his book, Mr Scobie writes about a conversation between Harry and his father in the wake of Spare's publication at the beginning of the year. A source says that the King wanted to "limit their discussion to a harmless exchange". The source added: "Concerning Harry, the message that circulated in the family was not to trust him... everyone took it very seriously."
King Charles 'branded Harry a fool in the wake of the Netflix series'
Meanwhile, the book also alleges that Charles was said to be far from happy with Harry after his explosive Netflix documentary tore into the Royal Family. As well as a tell-all conversation with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 and his memoir, Harry has shared intimate stories in his memoir titled Spare, as well as opened up about issues in his Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan.
Mr Scobie writes that in the aftermath of the series airing on Netflix: "At the Palace, heads were in hands and migraines were brewing." He describes how the show took the wind out of everyone’s sails, and quotes an aide as saying about Charles: "(He) went from not wanting anyone to talk about his son to openly criticising 'that fool'. "
The Netflix series, which was released last December, is composed of six episodes. At the time it was thought to have made for uncomfortable viewing for Charles, William, Kate and the rest of the Royal Family - and the new book appears to claim this indeed was the case.
Princess Anne was 'behind Frogmore Cottage eviction'
The book covers the fact that Harry and Meghan were asked to vacate their UK home Frogmore Cottage earlier this year. The property was gifted to the Sussexes by the late Queen after their wedding in 2018 but in March it was revealed it was being taken off them and Harry and Meghan confirmed they had been "asked to vacate" it.
Endgame claims that Harry begged to be allowed use of Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor estate when he and Meghan visit the UK and prompted him to ask his father: "You don't want to see your grandchildren anymore?" And it also alleges that it was Harry's aunt Princess Anne who "persuaded Charles to withdraw the use" of the cottage in Windsor from the couple.
Mr Scobie writes that Anne was "at the forefront of the supporters of the firm approach" taken by the Palace in them vacating the property. Harry and Meghan however are claimed to have had a supporter in Prince Edward, who was reportedly "uneasy" about the estranged royal's mental wellbeing.
Harry and Meghan were 'hurt Archie and Lilibet's titles were not given straight away'
Another issue that the book claims left Harry and Meghan 'hurt' is the supposed delay in granting their children Prince and Princess titles. As soon as their grandfather King Charles ascended the throne, the youngsters were eligible to use the titles as grandchildren of the monarch. However, it took a full six months for this to be reflected on the official Royal Family website, where as the new titles for William and Kate's children George, Charlotte and Louis were updated much sooner.
In Endgame, it is claimed Charles initially avoided the subject until early 2023, when he told Harry he would "make it official" but nothing was done until a month later when a press secretary told Harry and Meghan's team the change would be made. Mr Scobie writes: "The Palace blamed the delay on the site's periodic update schedule but refused to explain why they didn't just change the titles at the same time as publishing William and Kate's new Wales titles in September 2022. 'They see the way their children are treated differently and that's hard to feel comfortable with', said a friend of the Sussexes."
Charles declined invitation to Lilibet's christening
Meanwhile, when Lilibet, who is now two, was christened earlier this year in California, Charles did not attend - and the book claims he was invited by declined the invitation due to "scheduling conflicts".
But despite being unable to be at the celebration, Endgame claims Harry and Meghan still keep the King "in the loop" about what his youngest grandchildren are up to and send him new photos of the children.
Charles' 'stubbornly hard to pin down about Coronation'
Meanwhile, when it comes to other invitations, the book claims Harry and Meghan were left in the dark about whether they were going to receive an invitation to King Charles' Coronation in May. In the end, Harry attended the historic occasion alone while Meghan remained in California with the children. Endgame claims that Harry and Charles had spoken in early 2023 but says after that the King was "stubbornly hard to pin down" leaving the Sussexes wondering whether they were even invited to the spectacle.
The books claims: "His [Charles'] responses to Harry's enquiries about his attendance were vague at best. 'I.. haven't decided' he told his son during an early February phone call that Harry initiated" and it was only by the end of March that the invitation was confirmed.
Kate 'shudders when Meghan is mentioned'
Despite being sisters-in-law, the Princess of Wales and Meghan Markle never really hit it off and are now said to have a non-existent relationship. And according to Endgame, the two women have not exchanged words since 2019 with Kate "shuddering' every time Meghan is mentioned. The book adds that Kate "immediately detected a rival" in Meghan, and adds: "She spent more time talking about Meghan… than with Meghan."
In his own memoir Spare, Harry recounts several times that his wife seemed at loggerheads with his sister-in-law in the early days of their romance. He says the two women had a row over bridesmaid dresses in the lead-up to his wedding that left Meghan in tears and that Kate "grimaced" when the duchess borrowed her lip-gloss.
Kate 'works part-time and has unflattering nickname'
Meanwhile, Endgame paints an unflattering picture of a Kate describing her as a royal who works 'part time' and has earned herself the nickname 'Katie Keen' because the palace press office hides her reportedly lower workload by saying she is "keen to learn". Implying that she does less than other senior working royals, Mr Scobie say says her position is one other parents could "only dream of", and insists she "does not plan to increase her workload for 10-15 years" until her children are older.
He writes: "The late Queen, too, would take off blocks of time throughout the year to recharge, but she was also known to carry out at least three hundred engagements annually. Sources said Kate remains 'laser focused' on her duty to the family first, and then the Crown.
"Where other senior royals are out and about several times a week, meeting people across the length and breadth of the country, Kate has long maintained a smaller work schedule that helped her check off the required royal boxes while saving time for her roles as a mother and a wife." Scobie also brands the future queen 'cold' and claims that despite being an advocate for better mental health, Kate "ignored Meghan's cries for help" and had "no interest in being friends with her sister-in-law".
'Kate and Sophie went out of way to ignore Meghan'
However, it is not just Kate who is singled out for her alleged treatment of Meghan, Endgame also accuses the Duchess of Edinburgh of also ignoring her at the late Queen's funeral last year. It says that during their time in the UK in the aftermath of the late Queen's death, Harry and Meghan were "on the receiving end of snubs and brush offs".
It adds that "Camilla, Kate and Sophie noticeably went out of their way to ignore Meghan outside Westminster Abbey". A source tells Mr Scobie: "They did their best to remain focused on the importance of the trip and honouring Her Majesty, but being dragged into the royal fold again was an unpleasant experience. So little has changed, the same old power trips and dancing around various protocols."
Sophie and Edward's 'royal screw up'
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the book Sophie and husband Prince Edward are accused by Mr Scobie of writing "yet another page to add to the history of recent screw ups". He was referencing remarks made by the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh following Harry and Meghan's explosive Oprah interview. Mere days after the tell all chat, Edward and Sophie shared a laugh about the bombshell interview with The Telegraph, jokingly replying, 'Oprah who?' and 'what interview?' when asked whether or not they'd tuned in.
In Endgame, Mr Scobie writes that these "comments about the world's most successful black woman and one of the biggest faces in entertainment made them seem stuffy or tin-eared at best, and casually bigoted at worst." He continues: "Sophie's Oprah gaffe is yet another page to add to the history of recent screw ups."
The Royal author argues that Sophie and Edward's remarks could also be used as evidence to support the notion that the British monarchy is an "intolerant organisation steeped in bigotry and privilege".
Camilla 'thanked Piers Morgan for defending Firm amid Meghan claims'
In one explosive claim about Queen Camilla, the book alleges she shares a close relationship with former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan and that she "quietly thanked him for defending the Firm" in the wake of Harry and Meghan's explosive Oprah interview.
Piers quit the ITV breakfast show saying he refused to apologise for his comments about Meghan, where he nicknamed her 'Princess Pinocchio". Tonight he has denied he ever had any contact with Camilla.
Harry 'kept in dark about late Queen's health'
Elsewhere in the book, Mr Scobie claims Harry was "kept in the dark" about his late grandmother the Queen's declining heath in the hours before her death.
In Endgame, the royal author says Harry and Meghan had "no idea" the Royal Family were preparing for the Queen's final hours as they were on a trip to the UK. He writes: "By the next morning, the Sussexes had no idea that Buckingham Palace was already planning for the Queen’s final hours and the first days of the monarchy’s new era — until the Duke’s phone started ringing. An unknown number. He usually ignored those."
Meghan allegedly urged her husband to answer the phone and he accepted the call "just before it stopped". The book continues: "Harry hadn’t spoken to his father much that year, but this was not the time for any father-and-son tension. Charles told him he and Camilla were about to leave Dumfries House for Balmoral, where Princess Anne was already by the Queen’s side. He told Harry to make his way to Scotland immediately."
Prince William was said to be arranging travel. The book claims Harry messaged his brother asking if they could travel to Scotland together but got no response. Mr Scobie says Harry and Meghan were left to "operate in the dark".
Harry 'is ready to forget and move on'
Meanwhile, one sticking point in the way of a reconciliation between Harry, William and Charles is said to be Harry's demand for an apology. In an ITV interview earlier this year, Harry claimed that "the ball is in their court", while a report in The Times said the Duke was keen to get an apology from his father.
However, according to Endgame, Harry has now moved on and said: "I'm ready to forget. Get an apology or explanation? At this point, who cares, right?"
