Ahead of the grand inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh on January 22, 2024, the process of distributing invitation letters to people for the consecration ceremony of 'Ram Lalla' has commenced. Visuals on social media showed the letters, which are being sent out by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

The letters will be sent to nearly 6,000 people to attend the 'Pran Pratistha' (consecration ceremony) in Ayodhya.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are among prominent personalities who will be attending the grand inauguration of the Ram Temple.

A saint told news agency PTI that he had received the very first letter sent by the Trust. He added that he got the letter via post and is overjoyed to be the first person with the invitation letter.

Construction work on the temple is going in full swing, with three versions of Ram Lalla being made, of which, the best will be chosen closer to the inauguration date, India Today's sister channel Aaj Tak reported earlier. In this very last stage of preparations, the three versions of Ram Lalla are being made in a place where no one is allowed to go. It is expected that the final version will be selected this month for the installation on the sancturn sanctorum.

“In the third week of January 2024, the idol of Ram Lalla (infant Lord Ram) will be installed at its original place at the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharajsaid told reporters in Thane, Maharashtra.

Last month, the Trust shared pictures of the floor-inlay work of the Ram Temple by taking to X. The foundation stone of the temple was laid by PM Modi on August 5, 2020.
