Rohith Reddy Bandi had been hospitalised since he had experienced the accident on April 13. On July 24, he succumbed to his injuries despite receiving medical treatment.

"Rohith passed away on July 24 after a long battle with head injuries," Rohan, Rohit's brother, informed on GoFundMe page on July 27,

"Rohith sustained major injuries that resulted in several brain strokes, affecting about 70% of his brain, including critical regions responsible for basic life functions," said Rohan.

After the accident, Rohith was first admitted to an ICU at Dell Seton Hospital in Austin. He underwent major surgery and was placed on a ventilator. Later, he was transferred to Select Speciality Hospital in Dallas Plano, for continued specialised treatment.
