Shah Rukh Khan on 'Dunki': Wanted to end the year with a film for me

Shah Rukh Khan recently promoted his upcoming film 'Dunki' in Dubai. During the event, Bollywood's King Khan reflected on what makes 'Dunki' different from his other blockbusters of the year, 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan.' The movie directed by Rajkumar Hirani, will hit the screens on December 21.

SRK ON WHY 'DUNKI' IS SPECIAL

Shah Rukh Khan, who started 2023 with his powerful comeback 'Pathaan', is all set to end the year on a filmy note with his forthcoming film, 'Dunki.' During a recent promotional event in Dubai, the actor encouraged fans to watch the movie in theatres and also revealed why the film is special for him.

While talking about the same, he said, "I made 'Jawan' fir maine socha maine ladke ladkiyu ke liye bana di apane liye kuch nahy banayi fir maine 'Dunki' bana di. Ye meri vaali film hai jo mere dil ke bahut kareeb hai. This year started with 'Pathaan' for me, which was always for the girls, and I want to end the year with a film for me (“After being a part of Pathan and Jawan, I realised that I have not made a film for myself. So, I made Dunki. This is my film. This film is close to my heart. I did a film Pathaan for the girls and I wanted to end the year with a film for me. So, I did Dunki."

He further added, 'I don't know. Raju Hirsaab ne bhi kabhi aesi film nahi banai (Rajkumar Hirani hasn't made a film like this.) When we finished the film and saw it for the first time, humko aesa laga Raju Hirani saab ne love story bana di hai which spans ages. (When we saw the film, we thought Hirani had made a love story that spans ages)."

ALL ABOUT 'DUNKI'

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, 'Dunki' features Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, with supporting acts by Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar, Anil Grover and Jyoti Subash. The film is jointly written by Abhijat Joshi, Rajkumar Hirani and Kanika Dhillon.
