Caught on CCTV: Thieves break into ATM with gas cutter, flee with lakhs in car
Four thieves in Uttarakhand's Roorkee broke into an SBI ATM with a gas cutter and fled with lakhs in cash in a Scorpio car late on Saturday.

The robbery was captured on a CCTV camera installed near the ATM in the Dhandera area in Roorkee. In the footage, three men are seen wrapped in shawls in a bid to hide their identity and come out of the ATM turn by turn with bags containing cash. They run towards a white Scorpio car parked outside and put the bags inside the car's boot.
They then take their places in the vehicle before being driven away, the CCTV shows.
Police arrived at the scene after getting information about the robbery and conducted an investigation at the ATM. The ATM was locked up as the police were searching the area.
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Dehat Swapan Kishore Singh, the thieves first cut the ATM with a gas cutter, during which some of the cash kept inside the machine was burnt.
"The thieves robbed the remaining cash amounting to lakhs from the ATM and escaped. We are investigating the matter from all the aspects," Singh said.
