A chaotic scene erupted in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur when police officials snatched an effigy of Anurag Thakur from Congress workers who were supposed to burn it to mark their protest against the BJP leader's controversial remarks in Parliament yesterday.

Amid heavy rain, scores of Congress workers gathered in Sitapur to burn Anurag Thakur's effigy. However, some police officials arrived at the scene and seized the effigy, resulting in a prolonged struggle between the two sides.

Bystanders watched as the confrontation unfolded on the street, with both police and protesters stumbling and falling to take control of the effigy. Ultimately, the police managed to overpower the protesters and ran with the effigy inside a police post at the intersection.
