Calcutta High Court Justice Amrita Sinha's husband has been summoned by the West Bengal CID for the third time in relation to an alleged property dispute, according to sources.

The CID has asked Pratap Chandra Dey to appear at their office in Kolkata on December 22.

Advocate Dey was first summoned by the CID on December 1. After initially denying reports of the summons, he appeared and was questioned for 3-4 hours, CID sources told India Today.

Dey was questioned again for nine hours on the following Saturday. The investigation is being conducted by the CID based on the Supreme Court's orders.

The case originated from a complaint filed by a widow against Justice Sinha's husband in a property dispute.

Justice Sinha is currently presiding over West Bengal teachers' recruitment scam cases where Trinamool Congress (TMC) General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee has been summoned for questioning by the ED in the past.

Senior advocate of Calcutta High Court and CPI(M) Rajya Sabha MP Bikash Ranjan has expressed concerns about the ongoing investigation, stating, "The way advocate Pratap Chandra Dey is being harassed is not for the sake of investigation. This CID investigation is being done from a political perspective."
